Default Coding Agent
The coding agent (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Opencode, or Pi) used when a workspace is created without an explicit choice, including Slack, Linear, GitHub, and GitLab triggers. A default only applies while its agent is connected. If the configured default has no credentials for the user or the organization, Replicas resolves the default to a connected agent instead. This applies everywhere defaults are used, including the dashboard composer, Slack, Linear, GitHub, GitLab, and automations. You can still choose a different agent explicitly.Default Model
The model the default agent uses, applied to Slack/Linear/GitHub/GitLab triggers, automations, and newly started workspaces.- Provider-specific. Each agent exposes its own models, so the picker lists models for the selected default agent. Changing the agent resets the model.
- Shared inference credentials. Opencode and Pi can use the same Aster or OpenRouter API key.
- Agent default. Leaving the model unset lets the agent pick its own default.
- Resolution. Agent defaults resolve user preference → Slack or Linear integration default → org default → agent default, and model values are always validated against the resolved agent.
Thinking and modes
Defaults can also set the thinking level, Codex-only goal mode, and Claude/Codex fast mode. Leave a field unset to inherit the next level in the resolution chain. On the dashboard landing page, configured personal or organization model and thinking defaults take precedence. When either field has no configured default, the dashboard remembers the most recent selection for each coding agent in that browser.Other defaults
- Pull Request Cleanup: two independent toggles for whether workspaces are archived when their linked PR is closed without merging, and when it is merged. Archived workspaces keep their conversation history and can be woken again; closing a PR never deletes them (archived workspaces may still be removed later by the retention policy).
- CI Failure Response: whether Replicas investigates failed GitHub Actions, external CI checks, GitLab pipelines, and GitHub human PR reviews on linked PRs or MRs.
- Workspace History: persist workspace chat and Canvas history after a workspace sleeps. See Data Retention.
- Default Environment: a default environment for Slack and Linear intake, skipping the picker unless a resolved user has a personal default.
- Workspace Visibility: let members use the dashboard Owner filter to see workspaces that aren’t their own.
